SCOTT MCCLOUD: "Tales Of The Closet was a ground-breaking series in its time-and still is now. There should be more comics like this."

KURT BUSIEK: "TOTC is absolutely compelling – heartfelt, engaging and important. Once you pick it up, you won't want to put it down. And once you finish it, you'll join the rest of us and wish there was more."

ALISON BECHDEL: "Ivan Velez Jr. is a master of the comics form. That's all there is to it."

THE ADVOCATE: "Ivan Velez's darkly authentic comic books, with their urban locales and themes of loneliness, violence and depression address teenagers on their own level... infused with all the angst, drama, and confusion of a teen coming to terms with his or her own homosexuality."

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY: "It is a testament to his ability to create interesting characters..."

THE GAY COMICS LIST: "Ivan Velez manages to build very warm and believable characters, full of energy and hopes."

this manga is like the same thing that happens in a high school, but this is ok, but I am not looking for something that I already am doing.

But not really my cup of tea. I like that the artist seemed to aim more for realism than pretty with his character designs.

Definitely something to shake things up. The title caught my eye, and I wondered exactly what was inside this story. Not that i'm gay but not that there's anything wrong with it.. heheh. Anyway, the book is cool, lots of dialogue, it speaks of honest and truthful concepts and values. There's a lot to be learned from here about behavior and knowing to do the right thing. It offers a lot to the younger generation and i hope that they do check this out, in case it is your cup o tea. Realistic situations for characters that have been intimately humanized.. nicely done. Wouldn't mind more of these different titles, whaddya say netcomics? :)

I was lurking around the website today when I caught sight of this title in the Recent Updates section. Sounded like something interesting, and when I opened up the first chapter, I was totally surprised! I said to myself, "What's this? Not Manhwa? Not Manga?" But at the same time, I was totally intrigued by the whole idea. Looks like netcomics is finally breaking into some American titles. So, I read a few pages and I have to say, I'm hooked. I like the art style -- it's something different and refreshing. And the characters, too, it reminds me of being in high school again, with everyone portrayed pretty realistically. I hope more people catch on to this title, it looks like it's going to be a sleeper hit. What's everyone else think?
